Camberwell Arts Festival Goes Platinum
Don't miss the fun
YOU ARE INVITED TO a Right Royal Rumpus at this year’s Camberwell Arts Festival, which runs from 4th – 12th June 2022 as we celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
We launch with a BIG event on Saturday 4th June. From customised corgis to a scrumptious street party, where local businesses have generously contributed to the feast for the community. And talking of community, we have a Community Kitchen to get some conversations going about food. Not just demonstrations for ideas and skills, but also a fun-filled quiz run by Quiz Dog - it'll be hilarious and will get everyone talking.
Wend your way through the 70 Arts Market stalls showcasing an amazing array of local artists, designers and makers, alongside an extended food and drink market reflecting the global tastes that we all enjoy.
Bring your dog to take part in our stunning dog show where corgis may not be the only stars. And we still hope to receive your photos of Camberwell taken over the past 70 years to show both the continuity and the changes in our neighbourhood in the reign of Elizabeth II.
Children' creative workshops make them monarchs for the day by designing their own crowns and writing up laws they want to enact. We have also invited the Fire Brigade to bring along a fire engine to climb over between 11am - 1pm. We just have to hope that no fires will call them away on an emergency.
Arts Market is open between 11am - 5pm
Community Kitchen starts at 11am with a Food Fuel demo followed by the fun-filled quiz at 12noon and then a No-bake treats session at 2pm.
A Fire Engine will be with us between 11am - 1pm - thrilling for children and the firemen will be happy to advise on fire safety issues as well
The Street Party starts serving food at 12noon and continues until our feast runs out
Street Buskers will keep us entertained with a very varied programme of musical styles
The Dog Show starts at 2pm, so register your dog from 1.30 to get it into a 'round' that will show off its best features
There really is something for everyone on Saturday 4 June.
Open Studios takes you into the nooks and crannies of Camberwell where artists are creating work to trigger our emotions in all kinds of ways.
