Managing Director
We are looking for an innovative, passionate and experienced individual to manage the daily business.
We promote organisations in South London (our home) and now Liverpool, as we grow nationally. We all work remotely, having regular zoom calls and keeping in contact on slack, and some in-person meetings. Hours are flexible and can be arranged in the week as you wish between Mon-Fri 9-5. There may be infrequent weekend of evening work when attending events or volunteer meetings. You will work with 1 other employee and a number of project-based freelancers, as well as 3 board directors who oversee the strategy and ensure the MD and organisation are meeting revenue and impact targets.
We are small, friendly and flexible so you will have room to innovate and trial different ideas which align with our mission.
Responsibilities

Developing and implementing CB’s business strategies to increase social impact and revenue (secured from grants and consultancy sales)

Creating, executing and monitoring the performance of comprehensive business plans
-
Establishing internal company policies, procedures and legal protocols with the support of our legal experts
-
Overseeing employment, professional development and employee performance activities (currently we have 1 employee but hope to grow the team)

Establishing long-lasting relationships with organisations, beneficiaries, volunteers, partners and local authorities to grow our network

Creating a company culture and monitoring its adoption

Representing the company at public events and attending conferences

Reporting to the board every quarter
Qualifications and skills
We are an open-access organisation and would like to hear from everyone who thinks they have the following skills set:

Proven record of success in a senior management role
-
In-depth knowledge of community based health & social care and/or grass roots ecosystem

Ability to identify and attract talented employees/freelancers/volunteers
-
Extensive knowledge of financial and small business management techniques (with support from the board and accountant)

Commercial awareness and ability to grow revenue of a grass roots organisation
-
Ability to balance conflicting interests
-
Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
-
Proficiency in developing and implementing strategic and business plans
-
Ability to perform in high-pressure situations
Non-essential

Experience of good knowledge of software development (to support and guide our social prescribing hub development)

Experience in social enterprise

Experience in service evaluation & design

Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 16 per week
